Correction for Garzon et al., Distinctive microRNA signature of acute myeloid leukemia bearing cytoplasmic mutated nucleophosmin

PMCID: PMC11513935  PMID: 39423245

Medical Sciences Correction for “Distinctive microRNA signature of acute myeloid leukemia bearing cytoplasmic mutated nucleophosmin,” by Ramiro Garzon, Michela Garofalo, Maria Paola Martelli, Roger Briesewitz, Lisheng Wang, Cecilia Fernandez-Cymering, Stefano Volinia, Chang-Gong Liu, Susanne Schnittger, Torsten Haferlach, Arcangelo Liso, Daniela Diverio, Marco Mancini, Giovanna Meloni, Robin Foa, Massimo F. Martelli, Cristina Mecucci, Carlo M. Croce, and Brunangelo Falini, which was first published March 11, 2008; 10.1073/pnas.0800135105 (Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. U.S.A. 105, 3945–3950).

The editors note that the Correction text (1), copied below, should have stated that the U6 Northern blotting control data was used to represent different experimental conditions in Fig. 3B of Garofalo et al. (2) and Fig. 4C of the PNAS article.

  • The undersigned authors note, “It was brought to our attention that the U6 Northern blotting control was used more than once in Figs. 3B and 4C. We have performed confirmatory experimentation, the results of which have been posted as a preprint (https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2024.02.29.582835v1). This provides a repeat full Fig. 4C from the original article and is consistent with the initial result reported. We apologize to readers for the original mistake.”

Editorial review confirmed that data in the referenced bioRxiv preprint (3) supported the findings originally reported in Fig. 4C. The editors thank a reader for bringing this to our attention and apologize for the oversight.
