18F-2-FDG uptake (a and b) and FDG blood clearance (c) in CD36-null and WT mice fed the chow diet. Mice were injected with 5 μCi of 18F-2-FDG in a lateral tail vein. Blood samples were collected at 2, 10, 20, 30, 45, 60, 90, and 120 minutes after injection and were tested for radioactivity and glucose content. At the end of the experiment, tissues were removed, weighed, and counted for 18F-2-FDG radioactivity; uptake rate (a and b) is expressed per gram wet tissue.
