CD40 activation triggers FasL-dependent hepatocyte and HepG2 apoptosis. (a) Activation of CD40 with mAb induced apoptosis in hepatocytes and HepG2 cells. Treatment of unstimulated cells with NOK-1, a neutralizing Ab to FasL, alone had no effect, whereas NOK-1 inhibited apoptosis induced via CD40 activation.
