RPAs of array screening predicted VHL and hypoxia-responsive target genes. Cells were exposed to either normoxia (N; 20% O₂) or hypoxia (H; 0.1% O₂) for 16 h. Analysis of expression in 786-0 and the corresponding wt VHL stable tranfectant (+VHL) by RPA. See Table 1, 2 and 3 for corresponding gene names and a summary of the illustrated RPAs. (A) Genes predicted to be either downregulated (a) or upregulated (b) by wt VHL. (c) Expression of control genes: GLUT-1, a known hypoxia-inducible VHL target; LC, internal control assay (constitutively expressed U6 small nuclear RNA).
