Olfactory stimuli were presented in the center holes. Familiarization was conducted by a 2-day presentation of chocolate chips in the home cages. The average level of preference expected with equal distribution across holes was 6.25% nose pokes per hole. Criterion levels for preference were 12.5% (H; High) and 18.75% (E; Extreme). Data shown are means (+SEM). *p< 0.05, comparison to C57L/J. **p<0.05, comparison to both other strains.
