Study name The ACTonHEART Study: Rationale and Design of a Randomised Controlled Clinical Trial Comparing a Brief Intervention Based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to Usual Secondary Prevention Care of Coronary Heart Disease.
Methods RCT.
Participants 168 participants recently having AMI, ACS, surgical revascularisation (CABG).
Interventions Intervention: 5 × 90‐minute group sessions over 6 weeks based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with the aim of positively modifying health‐related behaviours and improving psychological health.
Comparator: usual outpatient cardiac rehabilitation care.
Outcomes HRQoL (SF‐36).
Psychological General Well‐Being Index.
